Spiritual Counselor (Chaplain)

At Share the Care Hospice Inc, the Hospice Spiritual Counselor offers initial and ongoing spiritual assessments for patients and their families, providing supportive interventions tailored to individual needs. Visits typically occur one to two times per month, or more frequently when requested by the patient, family members, or the interdisciplinary care team.

When appropriate, the Spiritual Counselor may coordinate with a patient’s community-based spiritual or faith leader to ensure continuity of support. Spiritual care focuses on meaning, peace, reflection, and emotional comfort rather than religious doctrine. This care is non-denominational and fully respectful of each person’s beliefs, values, and traditions, with no intent to influence or persuade.

If requested by the patient or family, the Spiritual Counselor may also assist with end-of-life rituals or officiate funeral services, offering continued support during a deeply meaningful time.
